Legal Interview Coach questions and answers
- What is Legal Interview Coach?
- Legal Interview Coach is a spoken practice tool for legal-role interviews. It asks realistic legal interview questions, lets users answer by voice, produces a transcript, and provides structured Coach Notes for a focused next attempt.
- Who is Legal Interview Coach for?
- It is for law students, legal assistants, paralegals, law clerks, junior lawyers, compliance professionals, internationally trained lawyers, NCA candidates, and other people preparing for legal or legal-adjacent job interviews.
- Is Legal Interview Coach legal advice?
- No. Legal Interview Coach provides interview-practice and communication coaching only. It is not a law firm, legal service provider, licensing authority, or source of legal advice.
- How is Legal Interview Coach different from ChatGPT?
- ChatGPT is a flexible general-purpose AI assistant. Legal Interview Coach is a dedicated legal interview practice room with legal-role-specific prompts, a guided voice-answer workflow, transcripts, Coach Notes, repeated-answer practice, and Practice History.
- Can NCA candidates use Legal Interview Coach?
- Yes. NCA candidates can practise explaining foreign legal education, prior experience, transferable skills, research and writing, qualification status, and interest in Canadian legal roles. The product is not affiliated with the NCA and does not provide NCA exam or licensing advice.
- Can internationally trained lawyers use it?
- Yes. Internationally trained lawyers can practise presenting foreign legal experience in clear English, explaining transferable value, discussing local-market transition, and adapting answers to Canadian or North American legal workplace expectations.
- Can legal assistants, law clerks, and paralegals use it?
- Yes. The interview question bank includes legal-support scenarios involving organization, documents, research, drafting, clients, confidentiality, deadlines, procedure, teamwork, and professional boundaries.
- What are Coach Notes?
- Coach Notes are structured feedback on a spoken interview answer. They identify what worked, the most useful improvement to make next, and a clearer version based on the user's actual answer, with attention to areas such as relevance, clarity, structure, tone, legal vocabulary, confidence, and conciseness.
- Does Legal Interview Coach replace a human interview coach?
- No. It offers private, repeatable AI-guided practice, but it does not replace the judgment, context, or personalized support a qualified human coach or mentor may provide.
- Does it guarantee a job offer?
- No. Legal Interview Coach does not guarantee interviews, job offers, licensing, credentialing, immigration, or other professional outcomes.
- Does it store audio recordings?
- Raw answer audio is not stored in the app database. When replay is available, audio files may be stored locally in the user's browser or device. Clearing browser data may remove those local recordings.
- What information should users avoid entering?
- Users should not enter client names, privileged communications, confidential matter details, sensitive legal facts, or personal information they would not want processed by an interview-practice tool or selected third-party AI service providers. General descriptions and placeholders are safer.
- Which AI providers process practice content?
- Depending on deployment configuration, transcription and Coach Notes may be processed by selected third-party AI service providers, including OpenAI and/or Google Gemini. Transcription and Coach Notes generation may use different providers.
- How does Prep Access work?
- Anonymous users can complete one full practice, and registered free users can complete up to three. A user who purchases Prep Access can continue beyond the free allowance during the selected access period. Prep Access is time-limited access, not a subscription.
- Can users practise before creating an account?
- Yes. An anonymous user can complete one full practice before creating an account. An account is needed for the larger registered free allowance and for paid Prep Access.
- What kinds of interview questions can users practise?
- Users can practise realistic questions about legal background, role fit, practice interests, research and writing, transferable skills, behavior, pressure, feedback, professional judgment, adaptation, confidentiality, risks or gaps, and closing topics. The interviewer may also ask a relevant follow-up based on the latest answer.
